BLM: covid Liberators or selective justice?

Dissent, Protest, & Justice Series 002

By the end of the month, BLM protestors may have liberated us from lockdown. If there is not a huge spike in serious cases, the new normal might be able to look far more like the old normal.

Despite this possible huge benefit, I am not comfortable with the police choosing to be selective in enforcing the law. Favoured protesters, and those that suggest they would violently resist the enforcement of the law, are free to do what they want. Peaceful un-favoured protestors are met with unnecessarily violent enforcement .

One thing that must change immediately is the ban on more than 5 people attending a funeral. And the ban on relatives being at the deathbed of their loved ones . Saying goodbye and grieving are essential parts of our time on this earth. Individuals must be allowed to weigh the risks and make their own choices about such fundamental things.
